May 19 - Plankton and Water Testing at the Sarbanes Center
Sometimes it seems on first sight, that there is not much living in the bay water. But looking through a microscope you will discover a whole new world of tiny critters. We will take water samples from the bay and see what kind of plankton is in the water. Also we will learn what University of Maryland students do at the environmental lab at the Sarbanes Center. Please wear shoes, that can get wet, and bring sunscreen and hats

Come to our 3rd Coast Kids camping weekend at the 450 acres Hazel Outdoor Discovery Center. The former farm has a large meadow, a fishing pond (sorry, no swimming!), and trails through the woods. The Hazel Center is equipped with clean bathrooms, a cabin (in case it starts raining), a shelter, a large BBQ, a fire pit, and fishing gear. And we will be the only group camping there! There are many nature and science projects to choose from: fishing, birding, build bug traps, aquatic life, hike in the forest, sounds of the night, and wilderness survival. In the evening we will have a bonfire. Smores, stargazing, and ghost stories are included.
