Protectors Of The
St. Martin River
how to contact:

In response to a Federal Water Discharge Permit for a Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation (CAFO) on the headwaters of Shingle Landing Prong in the St. Martin River watershed,  a coalition of Worcester County citizens formed "Protectors Of The St. Martin River" to oppose the CAFO Water Discharge Permit and to communicate with other neighbors in opposition to the proposed CAFO on Peerless Road in Showell, MD.

Join their Facebook Group Page to share comments, communicate with fellow concerned citizens, disseminate information, and read updates from the Group.  It is currently a 'closed FB page' so please search for "Protectors of the St. Martin River" in the FB search bar, then click the "add" tab to request to be added.

You can contact The PSMR by emailing:  ProtectorsStMartinRiver@yahoo.com

You can read our Coastkeeper's oral comments that were read in to the public record at an April 24 MD Dept. of Environment Public Hearing in Snow Hill,  MD,  in opposition to approval of the Permit.

You can read ACT's final written Public Comments here, which were submitted to MDE in opposition to approval of the Permit.

Read this Letter to the Editor in the MD Coast Dispatch 4/26/2018 after MDE held a Public Hearing to hear public comment about the CAFO Permit for Peerless Road.

Watch this news clip from Channel 47 WMDT about the MDE Public Hearing on 4/24/2018.

Contact The Protectors of the St. Martin River  by emailing:  ProtectorsStMartinRiver@yahoo.com

(As of mid-May 2018 the coalition is still building a website and a Facebook Group page in order to disseminate information about their effort and give instruction on how other citizens may get involved.)
