About the event
The Lizard Hill vegetation used to be destroyed by a sand mining operation. After the mine was abandoned, the area was restored with Atlantic White Cedar trees. Now, lots of birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and freshwater critters made the shallow ponds, the stream, and the woods on Lizard Hill their home.
We will learn about the restoration project, the animals that thrive at Lizard Hill, and catch macroinvertebrates (small freshwater critters).
Please wear closed-toed shoes that can get wet, and bring bug spray and sunscreen.
